4810     STATUTORY PROVISIONS

Pursuant to Government Code Section 13070, the Department of Finance has general powers of supervision over all matters concerning the financial and business policies of the State. Finance shall, in consultation with the Department of General Services, provide continuity and clarity with respect to policies, standards and guidelines regarding information technology operations and security, and with respect to roles and responsibilities in information technology project approval, procurement and oversight. These provisions shall apply to all State departments, offices, boards, commissions, institutions, and special organizational entities except the University of California, the California State University, the State Compensation Insurance Fund, and community college districts, agencies provided by Article VI of the Constitution, or the Legislature. Government Code Sections 11790-11797 also contain provisions regarding the State’s data centers.
