8116.4     PERMANENT TRAVEL ADVANCES FOR MEALS, INCIDENTALS, AND LODGING  EXPENSES
(New 9/91)

  1. As of July 1, 1991, the issuance of permanent travel advances to employees were discontinued due to the difficulties in satisfying the reasonable period of time requirements.   Permanent travel advances outstanding on July 1, 1991 were either returned by the employees or converted to temporary travel advances.   The converted travel advances complied with the temporary travel advance procedures for substantiation of travel expenses and recovery of travel advances in SAM Sections 8116.2 and 8116.3.
     
  2. Employees who travel continuously month after month are encouraged to use the State-sponsored charge cards for travel expenses and/or request temporary travel advances.
